How to tie Gele

Basic Steps for Wrapping Geles
"Gele" is a Yoruba {Nigeria, West Africa} word for a female headwrap.
A "headwrap" is a long piece of cloth that you tie and tuck on your head
to
create different looks. Unless you're cheating you never secure the gele
with safety pins. If you tied it tight enough, the material wouldn't come
off. If it loosened you could always retie it.

There are different styles of head wrapping. Even an intricate-looking style starts with a basic procedure. We recommend that you consult an expert for help with the more elaborate and intricate styles. Most experts can look at a picture and re-create the style.
